Changing Lives and Restoring Families
The MORE Project has numerous specialized programs (see MORE Programs link for details) whose overall aim is to provide critical care and support for some of Brazil’s most overlooked, impoverished children, adults, and families of Vila iparanga, a favela-or slum -located outside Rio de Janeiro.
At any given time, approximately…
- 150 school children participate in after-school programs, immersing them in reading and writing, math, the art and music.
- 75 children receive much-needed shelter and care for their basic needs.
- 225 children receive ongoing dental care as needed.
- 150 children are gaining a stronger sense of who they really are, and a newfound pride in their family and heritage.
At any given time, approximately…
- 1,030 adults and teenagers acquire essential skills and knowledge to become productive employees. With access to sought-after skills and training in numerous vocations, individuals finally have the means for jobs that can bring them and their families out of extreme poverty.
- 15 young men receive housing, job skills and care for their physical needs.
- 236 adults are being taught reading, writing and computer—some of the most important skills for self-sufficiency.
The More Project…
- rebuilds homes for families in extreme poverty.
- provides emotional and educational support to help families thrive.
- is currently building a village— Village MonaVie— that will become a beautiful sanctuary for children at risk. During their stay, they learn important skills, enabling them to reunite as stronger, more intact and supportive families and to lead their own stable and successful life.
“In a world of starters and few finishers, my greatest desire for the MORE Project is to finish what we’ve started. We have various projects currently underway and others in the pipeline, each designed for a specific purpose and to fill a particular need.”
— Dallin Larsen,
Founder and President, MonaVie
“Addressing the issue of poverty can leave you feeling hopeless. That is, until you see the More Project. Experiencing their philosophy of helping people by changing their environment, extending dignity, and offering education will leave you with a renewed sense of possibilities for the world. We can now defeat the problem.

God does not require us to succeed, He only requires that we try.
