I wanted to thank each of you who have generously stepped forward to Sponsor-a-Child in need living in Brazil. We have been overwhelmed with the emotional responses from each of you.  Nearly 500 kids have been sponsored and at Anaheim alone donors contributed nearly $300,000 towards helping children in need for this year. Both R3Global and TEAM have jumped on board with this new program in a big way.  Thank you to everyone who is making Sponsor-a-Child a success!

Our goal at The MORE Project is to restore families living in extreme poverty in Brazil. All of our programs are aimed at bringing families together. Sponsoring a child only continues our efforts and increases the success rate of children learning lifelong skill that will help them break the cycle of extreme poverty that they are currently in.  

By sponsoring a child you are giving a child in need:

• School programs five days a week with loving, supportive instructors.
• Two meals a day
• Dental care
• Access to a psychologist, speech pathologist, social worker and medical professionals.

In Anaheim we were blessed to see and hear from one of our outstanding students that is a participant in the Taking off program. Yone is one of the young children that is benefitting from the support of your generosity. 

What makes sponsoring a child such a special program is that each of you who chooses to sponsor a child will be connected to a specific child. One of our sponsors, Gina, has already seen how special sponsoring a child can be. 

                Before my husband and I went to sponsor a child, we said a prayer asking God to give us the child HE wanted us to have.  Then of course, being human, we asked for a BOY between 4-7, so our 7 year old son could relate and want to be more actively involved with communication to him.  When we were handed our envelope, I actually said, “God, I hope we didn’t put limitations on you”.  We didn’t open the envelope until we were already on our way home.  When I opened the envelope, the child inside was actually different than the child on the envelope…it was a beautiful little GIRL.  I was confused since the names didn’t match on the envelope and packet inside.  As I read through Karine’s profile, something jumped out at me…her birth date July 7, 2002. You see, I lost my Dad to cancer in 2002 and it just so happens that his birthday, along with my sisters, is also on July 7th.  I got chills all over and my eyes welled up with tears.  I looked at my husband and said, “This is not a coincidence…God sent us Karine.  We are supposed to impact her life”.

Thank you MonaVie and MORE Project!  We are so proud to be a part of the Sponsor a Child Program!   We look forward to not only impacting Karine’s life, but many many more!  As a matter of fact, we now have a goal to travel to Brazil and meet Karine and the other wonderful children sometime in 2011.

The Salt Lake City Regional was an amazing event. Of course the launch of EMV was unbelievable… and so was The MORE Project GIVE. Dallin Larsen, CEO of MonaVie led into The MORE Project section by sharing her personal connection and feelings about The MORE Project. If any of you had a chance to see this, you could really see Dallin’s heart and commitment to MORE. He cares so much about making a difference in this world and commits MonaVie to help make that difference.

Sergio was there with me… love that man. He has such a heart and is all about love. He gives love to the project and to the people we serve. He shared his heart. He shared his own vulnerability.

I also talked and shared my heart. We reflected on the last year. So much has happened in the last year. We have seen so much progress in the programs in Brazil – more children fed and educated, more adults have gone through classes and are getting jobs, homes have been built, children have moved into safe havens. It has been an amazing year and a half. I have been changed by this amazing project and continue to be in awe at the goodness of the MonaVie distributors.

Dallin harkened back to the Salt Lake annual convention of two years ago (2007) where 1 million dollars was raised and talked about that magical day. As people were asked to come forward that day and give… the giving did not stop for two hours. Distributors quietly shed tears as they watched pictures of the people we were helping in Brazil and experienced giving like many had never seen before.

Dallin asked distributors to consider giving again at this level. He asked them to open their hearts and take time to reflect on the goodness and blessings being poored on MonaVie and how we might continue to give back. Salt Lake is just a special place and time each year. Distributors tell me they can’t wait for the GIVE in Salt Lake City because it moves them so much.

We raised 1 million dollars last year (2008) at the Salt Lake annual…. and again, a miracle occurred this year (2009). In the middle of a challenging economy where giving is down all over the world, giving continues to go up for The MORE Project. We raised 1.1 million dollars through the Salt Lake City event this year (2009).

I am humble at the generosity and giving spirit of all or our donors. The night of the convention I was having dinner with several distributors. One of them said he thought the MORE Project give was a holy event. Truly holy. He had only experienced something like that twice in his life and one of those times was in the presence of Mother Theresa.
